An exciting opportunity is available for a Director of Civil Engineering to lead transportation and roadway engineering, drive strategic growth and oversee major infrastructure projects across the Chicago market.

 

The Role

 

You'll combine technical expertise, commercial leadership and client relationship management to deliver complex infrastructure projects while building high-performing engineering teams and identifying new business opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Lead large-scale transportation, roadway and civil infrastructure projects.

- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with public-sector clients.

- Drive business development, major project pursuits and market expansion.

- Provide technical direction across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

- Mentor senior engineers and develop future leaders.

- Oversee project budgets, resourcing, delivery and financial performance.

 

What We're Looking For:

 

- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

- An active Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) licence.

- Extensive civil engineering experience, ideally within transportation and roadway infrastructure.

- Experience delivering projects for state and local transportation agencies.

- Proven leadership across engineering teams, major projects and client relationships.

- Strong commercial acumen and business development capabilities.

Experience with alternative project delivery methods would be advantageous.
