Position: Sustainability Lead

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

Salary: £45 000 - £ 60,000, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sustainability strategies and objectives aligned with best practices and organizational goals.

• Lead carbon reduction initiatives and manage accreditation processes such as Carbon Charter.

• Deliver engaging sustainability training programs to build organizational awareness and commitment.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management and HR, to embed sustainability across the business.

• Monitor and report on sustainability performance, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and frameworks such as ISO 14064.

• Represent our client at industry events, project meetings, and conferences to advocate for sustainability initiatives.

• Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies to continuously enhance sustainability efforts.

Professional and Personal Attributes:

• Proven experience in sustainability or environmental management, with a strong track record of delivering impactful results.

• A degree or professional qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.

• Membership or working towards membership with IEMA or an equivalent professional body.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and driving sustainability initiatives.

• Familiarity with carbon reduction planning, compliance frameworks, and delivering sustainability training programs.

Our client is seeking a Senior person to join the team as an Account Manager. This role will focus on sales to the UK mid-market Private Equity clients, and their portfolio companies.

 
Job Responsibilities:

New Business Development: Identify and engage potential private equity buyers, presenting tailored ESG solutions and selling to portfolio companies and adding portfolio companies as new clients.
Sourcing and closing upsell opportunities
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within private equity firms to ensure long-term partnerships.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with ESG consultants to develop and deliver integrated ESG strategies and solutions.
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve business growth targets.
 

Professional and Personal Attributes:

• Proven track record of account growth, and new business sales.
• Experience working with Board Members, Partners, Investment/Portfolio directors, and ESG specialists, within UK mid-market private equity clients is essential.
• Experience of building a wide network of private equity contacts, and the ability to build new relationships.

Closing Deals: Drive the sales process from initial contact to closing, negotiating terms and securing new business.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated ESG Supply Chain Consultant to help companies enhance their ESG performance through effective supplier engagement.

In this role, you will:

• Client Deliverables: Assist the Senior ESG Management team with ESG Maturity and Materiality assessment, due diligence reports, Net Zero strategies, climate-risk assessments, EU compliance, and ESG Impact Reports.
• Client Engagement: Conduct data analysis, stakeholder interviews, formulate recommendations, and support solution implementation.
• Sustainability Expertise: Address key sustainability areas such as science-based targets, greenhouse gas emissions, ethical trading, fair labour practices, human rights, and diversity and inclusion.
• Sustainability Framework: Analyse EU sustainability trends and developments, including policies and regulations (EU Taxonomy, CSRD, SFDR) and global voluntary reporting frameworks (SBTi, B-Corp, TCFD, etc).
• Supplier Engagement: Design and execute supplier engagement programs, establish responsible procurement policies, and promote sustainable procurement and materials.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and quality deliverables while developing innovative consulting solutions for clients.

Job Requirements:

• Consultancy Experience: Degree in an ESG/Sustainability related subject with at least 2 years’ experience in consulting or professional services.
• Sustainability and ESG/ Net Zero Knowledge: Understanding of sustainability/ESG issues, including energy and greenhouse gas emissions, science-based targets, and sustainable procurement practices related to human rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Supply Chain and Sourcing Experience: Experience in supply chain, sourcing/procurement, or supplier-facing roles.
• Analytical and Numerical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills, including data collection and management, with advanced Excel skills (knowledge of analytical software like Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI is a bonus).
• Project Management and Communication Skills: Experience managing projects in-house, within the supply chain, or in consultancy/NGO environments; excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Organizational Skills and Adaptability: Organised, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with effective time management and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
