Role: Head of Network Design ( Electricity Connections)

Salary: £80 000 - £95 000/annum

Benefits: Pension 5% and Private Medical Aid + Discretionary Bonus

Location: London ( Hybrid)

Our client, a leading Utility Giant, is hiring a Head of Network Design role with experience of EHV up to 132kV.

Job Description

As the Head of Network Design, your duties will include:

  • Ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up to 132kV.
  • High Voltage ( HV) Network and Substation design.
  • Lead a team of Design Engineers.
  • Understand and apply iDNO Industry design standards.
  • Understand and apply ENA ER standards where applicable Liaise with DNO/ iDNO/ UIP's, ICP's on all aspects of design.
  • Manage the relationship between all upstream parties for capacity and demand negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of a successful customer journey and offer insight to how the Design Team operates.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams across the organisation to deliver business objectives (e.g. Commercial, Delivery Team (EV, Private Networks, Battery, Direct to Developer).

Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced Design Manager with leadership expertise and qualities who will be responsible for the Design Division:

  • Managing a team and being hands-on.
  • Motivating the team around you.
  • Electricity Network Design - Distribution Connections.
  • Ideally design experience of up to 132KV.
  • Power Distribution experience.
  • The individual will have strong knowledge of LV, HV and preferably EHV networks. Supported by the wider senior team they will also deliver gas, water and heat network design assurance.
  • Knowledge of Private Networks.
  • Experience/proficiency in AutoCAD - Good understanding of 2D CAD drawing.
  • Electricity network design experience with the ability to use design software.
  • Background within either the Utilities or Distribution industries.
