Our client, a rapidly growing consultancy, is seeking an ESG Director. The role will focus on expanding the ESG business in France and delivering high-quality consultancy services.

Are you an experienced ESG consultant with a commercial mindset, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in client management and leading consultancy teams?
As the ESG Director in Paris, you’ll be our first hire in France, tasked with launching and leading the Paris office and building a talented team of ESG consultants.
In this role, you will:
- Build meaningful relationships with clients across various sectors, serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives.
- Upsell within existing accounts and collaborate with the new business sales team on proposals.
- Finalize client deliverables, highlighting critical areas for discussion, and handle scoping and fee negotiations for standard engagements.
- Assemble and lead a team of consultants based in Paris while designing and overseeing complex engagements.
- Develop and publish thought leadership pieces, inspire and mentor team members, and lead key practice development initiatives in collaboration with other team members.
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE
- Commercially driven leader with ESG strategy consulting experience and expertise in Net Zero, Climate Risk, or CSRD readiness, along with a strong understanding of regulations and market dynamics.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful recommendations to mid-market corporate clients or Private Equity.
- Skilled in managing complex projects, leading business development activities with senior stakeholders, and conducting client-specific materiality assessments.
- Ability to lead and develop a team of consultants, including mentoring junior staff, while demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Fully bilingual in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
While the Director will play a role in supporting and advising on identifying, pursuing, and converting business development opportunities, there is a dedicated business development team that handles new client acquisition and can assist with upselling.
Additionally, we have established Private Equity clients operating in France, offering a solid foundation for building a French client base.
